So ladies, keep reading to see 10 Reasons You Should Lift Weights to Get Bikini Ready.

1. It Builds Muscle

With more muscle you will start to see that visible muscle tone and definition that you’re looking for. Plus you’ll look great in that bathing suit you just bought!

2. It Burns a Ton of Calories

You can burn up to 500+ calories in an hour by lifting weights. Research has shown that weight lifting will boost BMR (basal metabolic rate) for up to 24 hours post-workout. Which equates to burning calories long after you’ve put the barbell down!

3. More Muscle = Higher Metabolism

Your body has to burn calories in order to maintain muscle. So even on those days that you aren’t in the gym lifting weights you are still burning more calories because of the extra muscle that you have. Your body doesn’t have to burn any calories to hold on to fat, so the more muscle we can have the better!

4. Exercising will Burn Fat

When exercising with weights, your body will begin to release its stored fat. When that happens, your body will start to use the free fat for fuel. This is great news if your goal is to burn fat, which we assume it is!

5. Keeps you Young

As we get older, our metabolism slows down and it typically drops off at 30. So those days of eating like a teenager are long gone. However, we can keep our metabolism running as fast as ever by training with weights!

6. Improves your Posture

You know you’ve been stuck in terrible positions, like sitting in front of a computer all day or being on our phone with rounded shoulders. Lifting weights will strengthen your core, back and shoulders, which will help to get you standing more upright with perfect posture. Another way to look great in that bikini you just picked out!

7. Improves a Number of Potential Health Issues

Weight lifting is a great way to increase your heart rate and improve its overall strength. It also lowers your blood pressure, which means your heart doesn’t have to work as hard on a day-to-day basis!

8. Boosts your Mood, Alertness and Energy

It reduces stress and creates a sense of happiness by increasing your endorphins that increases your alertness and bumps up your energy for the rest of the day.  No need for that afternoon coffee anymore, lets grab a kettlebell!

9. Increased Bone Strength

Weight training strengthens your bones by increasing your bones density.  Which improves your health and helps to prevent injury and diseases, like fractures and osteoporosis. Which is a significantly more common in women than men.

10. Beauty is Strength and Strength is Beauty

There is nothing more beautiful than a women with self-confidence. After weight training with us at GPS Human Performance, you will feel strong, empowered, and look great as you walk down the beach!
